Delhi HC orders probe into judicial officers for this reason
India
The Delhi High Court has ordered a probe into two judicial officers accused of pressuring a woman lawyer to water down her rape complaint against another lawyer.
The court also canceled the accused's pre-arrest bail, stating that both parties had made an "absolute mockery of justice" and pointing to strong evidence of interference.
Woman lawyer says she was raped by a colleague
A 27-year-old woman lawyer says she was raped by a colleague who promised to marry her.
After she went to the police, some judicial officers allegedly tried to get her to drop the case—one even suggested skipping medical exams and settling for ₹30 lakh.
The High Court wasn't having it: they've ordered an inquiry into these officers' actions and told the accused lawyer he must surrender within a week.
