Delhi HC to hear Sajjan Kumar's plea against life sentence
The Delhi High Court is set to review former MP Sajjan Kumar's appeal against his life sentences tied to the 1984 Anti-Sikh riots.
The court, led by Justices Vivek Chaudhary and Manoj Jain, wants feedback from investigators before the hearing on January 28.
Kumar's case centers on the murders of Jaswant Singh and his son Tarundeep Singh during the violence in Saraswati Vihar.
What's behind the appeal?
Back in February, Kumar was handed a life sentence for murder and property destruction—though prosecutors pushed for the death penalty, the judge chose life imprisonment because of his age and health.
His legal team argues he was only added to this case at a later stage, and his name was not there from the beginning of the case.
Now, all eyes are on what happens next when his appeal is heard early next year.
