Delhi is merging its cluster busses with DTC for smoother rides
India
Big update for Delhi commuters: the city is phasing out its cluster bus service by April 2026 and handing everything over to DTC.
The idea is to bring all public busses under one system, making routes, tickets, and schedules less confusing—and hopefully giving everyone a better ride.
Why does this matter?
Right now, DIMTS runs about 40% of Delhi's busses with private operators, but there have been issues—like audits pointing out weak oversight and lots of monitoring gaps.
By moving everything under DTC, the city hopes things will run more smoothly (and save some serious cash too).
Plus, with thousands of new electric busses on the way and CNG ones being retired, this change should mean more reliable and greener commutes for millions in Delhi.
