Delhi isn't under stage-4 pollution emergency—yet
Despite rumors, Delhi hasn't moved to Stage-4 emergency pollution measures.
The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) says only Stage-3 rules are active right now, even though the air quality is pretty rough, with AQI stuck between 200 and 350.
So, what's actually happening under Stage-3?
Since November 11, non-essential construction and demolition are banned.
Factories have stricter emission limits, diesel generators are restricted, and there's more road cleaning with water sprays.
Traffic checks may be tightened—all to keep things from getting worse.
What would trigger a real emergency?
Stage-4 is triggered when air quality reaches emergency levels, typically when AQI exceeds 400.
That means all construction stops, schools close, some businesses pause, odd-even car rules return, and high-pollution trucks can't enter the city.
For now though? Delhi's not there yet—just on alert and hoping things don't escalate.
