Delhi minister calls for immediate action to tackle pollution

India

Delhi Urban Development Minister Ashish Sood isn't happy with how the city's pollution is being handled.
In a review meeting on Wednesday, he urged the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to step up its game and take real action for cleaner air and a healthier city—stressing the need for immediate and visible improvement.

Sood suggests double shifts for staff to manage waste

Sood wants faster waste sorting, more use of smoke guns and road sweepers to tackle dust, and even suggested double shifts for staff if needed to manage Delhi's massive daily waste.
He also pushed for better vehicle routes with GPS tracking to cover dusty spots. Plus, he called for tougher steps to stop landfill fires and met with clean energy experts to find ways to cut down on car emissions.
