Delhi petrol pumps deny fuel to old vehicles
From July 1, Delhi's fuel stations will stop refueling older vehicles—specifically, diesel cars over 10 years old and petrol ones over 15.
This is all about cutting down on air pollution in the city.
To make sure the rule sticks, police and transport officials will be stationed at pumps across town.
TL;DR
How will pumps track end-of-life vehicles?
Fuel stations will use special cameras (ANPR tech) to spot end-of-life vehicles.
If your car gets flagged, it could be seized and you'll get a challan on the spot.
Pumps have to keep track of every time they deny fuel and report it weekly.
Stations not following the rules can face penalties, so staff are being trained on how to say "no" politely but firmly.
