IMD predicts above-normal July rainfall
Get ready for a wetter-than-usual July—IMD says most parts of India can expect more rain than normal this month.
There's also a heads-up about possible flooding in central India, Uttarakhand, and Haryana.
While temperatures should mostly stay average or even dip a bit, the northeast and northwest could still see some hotter days.
Areas near big rivers asked to stay alert for floods
July typically brings about 28cm of rain, but this year's boost is due to shifting monsoon patterns and new low-pressure systems.
Some areas—like the northeast, eastern states, and far south—might actually get less rain than usual.
IMD chief Mrutyunjay Mohapatra is urging everyone near big rivers like the Godavari and Mahanadi to stay alert for floods, saying it's important for communities to be prepared just in case.
