What's the story

The Delhi Police has arrested five members of the Aarzoo-Anmol Bishnoi-Harry Boxer syndicate in connection with the murder of Inderpreet Singh, alias Parry, a former aide of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, PTI reported. Parry was shot dead on December 1 in Chandigarh's Sector 26, shortly after leaving a club. He was ambushed while sitting in his SUV and died en route to the hospital.

Criminal history

Parry's criminal background and gang rivalry

Parry had previously been a part of the Bishnoi gang but was believed to have switched loyalties to Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar. He had several criminal cases against him in Chandigarh and Punjab, including attempt to murder, extortion, assault, rioting and Arms Act violations. His association with Bishnoi dates back to their college days when they entered student politics through the Students Organisation of Panjab University in 2010.

Murder claim

Bishnoi gang claims responsibility for Parry's murder

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang had claimed responsibility for Parry's murder through a social media post. They said the killing was done to avenge their financier's death in Dubai. The arrested accused were absconding and wanted in multiple cases across Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. Among those arrested are the executors of national-level kabaddi player Sonu Nolta's murder and Ashu Mahajan, a bar and restaurant owner.
