Delhi Police busts cyber-slavery trafficking ring; 2 arrested
Delhi Police's IFSO unit has uncovered a human trafficking ring where two recruiters, Danish Raja (24) and Harsh (30), tricked young Indians with fake job offers for high-paying jobs abroad but sent them to scam centers in Myanmar instead.
There, the victims were assaulted and subjected to physical abuse and forced to run online scams targeting people in the US—a crime known as cyber-slavery.
The operation came to light after a military raid in Myanmar last month rescued hundreds, including 465 Indians.
What's happening now?
After a victim named Imtiyaz Babu returned home and spoke out, police registered a case on November 20.
Raja admitted he kept recruiting even after being deported in 2020.
Investigators have seized phones with chats linking the accused to foreign handlers and are now digging into digital trails to find others involved and break up this international network.
