Delhi Police dig into Red Fort car blast, eye possible terror links

India

A car explosion near Delhi's Red Fort on the evening of November 10 has police working overtime. The blast came from a Hyundai i20 that had been parked there for about three hours.
Now, officers are tracing vehicle records and talking to drivers who were nearby to piece together what happened.
A fresh FIR has been filed for criminal conspiracy, while the first one is now with the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

What's behind the blast?

Investigators are trying to figure out if Umar Nabi—the car's driver—was acting alone or as part of something bigger. His photo is being shown around for identification.
They're also looking at connections between an arrested suspect, Dr. Muzammil Ganaie, and some missing doctors from Al Falah University. Call detail records showed multiple conversations between Dr. Muzammil and several doctors.
The probe follows a crackdown on a "white-collar terror module," which recently saw a massive explosives bust and several arrests across multiple states.
The investigation is still unfolding as authorities try to map out this network.
