Delhi PWD to study 8km elevated road and 500m underpass
Delhi's Public Works Department (PWD) is gearing up to tackle city traffic with two new projects: an 8-kilometer elevated road linking Rani Jhansi Road and Punjabi Bagh West Metro station (passing through Anand Parbat and Zakhira), plus a 500-meter underpass near the Crown Plaza traffic signal in Mayur Vihar.
Feasibility studies, costing ₹2.73 crore, are set to be undertaken to figure out the best routes and how these upgrades could help everyday commuters.
PWD projects to reduce Delhi congestion
The elevated road aims to connect central and west Delhi smoothly, taking pressure off busy surface roads, especially for folks heading across town.
The Mayur Vihar underpass is designed to clear up the Crown Plaza junction so through traffic keeps moving while locals can still access ground-level roads.
Once studies wrap up, detailed plans will follow as part of a bigger push: these are just two out of around 18 projects already working on to make getting around Delhi easier.
