Delhi revives inter-state bus service with eco-friendly fleet

India

After a 20-year break, Delhi is relaunching its inter-state bus service, but with a green twist.
Soon, 100 electric busses will connect Delhi to 17 cities across six states—including Uttarakhand, UP, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, and Jammu & Kashmir.
The move aims to make travel more eco-friendly and modern for everyone.

How the new bus service will operate

These new busses are designed for comfort and safety—think AC rides, comfy seats, CCTV cameras, GPS tracking, and panic buttons.
Booking a seat should be simple too: DTC is working on a mobile app with wallet-friendly fares.
The previous service ended due to fuel issues in neighboring states; this reboot focuses on clean energy and better connectivity.
