Delhi rolls out tougher anti-pollution plan

Delhi just launched a stricter version of its Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) to fight rising air pollution.
Announced by the Commission for Air Quality Management on November 21, 2025, the new rules kick in earlier—at lower AQI levels—so action starts before things get really bad.

What's different this time?

Instead of waiting for air quality to hit emergency levels, major restrictions will now start sooner.
This update comes after lots of discussions with experts and aims to protect public health by keeping pollution from spiraling out of control.
The goal: stop those "emergency" smog days before they even begin.
