Delhi: Swami Chaitanyananda arrested after 50 days on the run

India

Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati (also known as Parthasarathy) was finally caught by Delhi Police in Agra after 50 days on the run.
He's accused of sexually harassing 17 female students—mostly from economically weaker backgrounds—at Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management, reportedly sending them lewd messages and using abusive language.

He has 2 passports under different names

Chaitanyananda also faces serious financial fraud charges, including misusing institute funds, forging passports, and illegally leasing property.
A preliminary audit revealed irregularities worth about ₹20 crore, including the creation of a parallel trust to divert earnings.
To dodge arrest, he kept moving between hotels in Mathura, Vrindavan, and Agra while pretending to have top government connections.
After his arrest, police seized his electronics and found two passports under different names.
He's now in five-day police custody as investigations into both the harassment and financial scams continue.
