    What's the story

A 26-year-old woman and her paramour were arrested for killing her husband and brother-in-law in Delhi, police said.

The brother-in-law, Manoj Kumar, did not approve of their relationship after the death of his brother Mukesh. Manoj was shot dead by the woman's paramour on Saturday, they said.

The police added that during the investigation, it was learned that the accused duo also killed Mukesh.

    Manoj's death

Manoj went to fetch water and was found dead

On June 23, Manoj, 35, had gone to bring drinking water from east Delhi's Ghazipur. When he didn't return, his wife went looking for him and found him dead.

The police said Manoj was shot dead and a case was registered.

The police traced Mohit Bhati (29), a resident of UP's Dadri town, on the basis of call-records, and arrested him on June 24.

    Mukesh's death

Mukesh had to come to know of his wife's affair

During interrogation, Bhati revealed that a year ago, he lived near Mukesh's house and got into a relationship with his wife Pooja.

Mukesh got to know about the relationship and confronted Pooja. She informed Bhati, who along with his associate took Mukesh from his house and later killed him near a railway track in Dadri, said Pankaj Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East Delhi).

    Wife arrested

Manoj raised objections on the duo meeting after Mukesh's death

A missing report was lodged by Mukesh's family and his brother, Manoj, brought Pooja to Delhi and started living in Ghazipur where Bhati would often come to meet the woman, police said, adding that the brother-in-law raised objections to their meeting.

A country-made pistol, a live cartridge and blood-stained shirt, pant and shoes, and a motorcycle were seized from Bhati.

    Pooja was arrested today.
