Delhi's air quality 'severe,' over 30% pollution from stubble burning

India

Delhi and the NCR woke up to "severe" air quality this Sunday morning, with over half of the city's monitoring stations showing AQI levels above 400.
Bawana topped the list at 436, while places like Wazirpur and Rohini weren't far behind.
According to IITM's Decision Support System forecast, stubble burning from nearby states is behind more than 30% of this spike.

Health risks and precautionary measures

Breathing in this kind of air isn't just uncomfortable—it can seriously affect your health, especially if you have asthma or other respiratory issues.
Hospitals often see a jump in cases when pollution gets this bad.
In response, authorities have rolled out health advisories, restricted construction work, and are pushing for more public transport use to help everyone breathe a little easier.
