Delhi's air stays "very poor" even after strict anti-pollution steps

India

Delhi's air quality is still rough, with AQI numbers hitting 374 at ITO on Wednesday—well into the "very poor" zone.
Even after the strictest phase of GRAP (the city's emergency pollution plan) kicked in, pollution levels at hotspots like ITO and India Gate remain high.
The cold, foggy weather up north isn't helping either, likely trapping more smog close to the ground.

City puts ₹100cr toward cleaning up

In response, Delhi's government just set aside ₹100 crore to revive 160 water bodies—hoping this move will help cut down on pollution and make city life a bit healthier overall.
It's part of a bigger push for cleaner air and better urban living across the capital.
