Delhi's wedding season gets an air-purifying twist
Delhi's wedding season is getting a high-tech twist—families are now renting air purifiers to keep celebrations safe from the city's intense pollution.
Mohsin Khan from Vivah Luxury Weddings says families are spending an extra ₹20,000-₹40,000 just for cleaner air, especially since NRIs, used to much lower AQI levels, are especially concerned when they see Delhi's pollution and often request air purifiers.
Moving indoors
With outdoor lawns out of favor, more weddings are moving into banquet halls or even relocating to less polluted cities like Mussoorie.
Event planners like Megha Jindal have seen a big jump in purifier requests for indoor events, and it's not just luxury weddings—middle-class families want healthier spaces too.
Guests showing up in masks has become pretty normal, but despite the smog, Delhi's wedding spirit is still going strong.
