ED questions Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar, Basavaraj Kannale over veterinary exams
Big news out of Karnataka: the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has questioned suspended IAS officer Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar and alleged middleman Basavaraj Kannale over shady dealings in the recent veterinary officer recruitment exams.
Both were arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and are now in judicial custody, with the interrogation happening right at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison.
FIR prompts KPSC raids, Hosamani sought
Following the probe into the veterinary officer recruitment exams, Vidhana Soudha police filed an FIR on August 7, flagging corruption in the Karnataka Public Service Commission's (KPSC's) recruitment process.
This led to raids at KPSC offices and properties linked to Gangwar, followed by his arrest on August 30 and Kannale's a day later.
Meanwhile, KPSC member Shantha Hosamani, accused in a related scam, had her anticipatory bail application rejected and is currently on the run, with authorities ramping up efforts to track her down.
