Educate Girls wins Ramon Magsaysay Award for rural education efforts
Educate Girls, an Indian non-profit, recently received the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay Award for making a real difference in rural education.
Since 2007, they've reached over 30,000 villages across states like Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar.
With help from 55,000 community volunteers, they've brought more than two million girls back to school and supported another 2.4 million children with remedial learning programs.
'Next big goal: Reach 10 million learners by 2035'
At the award ceremony in Manila, founder Safeena Husain praised the courage of girls and volunteers driving this mission.
CEO Gayatri Nair Lobo shared their next big goal: reaching 10 million learners by 2035.
The team was recognized not just for closing gender gaps but also for challenging stereotypes and pushing to make quality education accessible to girls and young women.
