Explosive material found at properties rented by Delhi university professor
Police in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana just uncovered nearly 2,900kg of ammonium nitrate—an ingredient often used in explosives—hidden at two properties rented by Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie, a doctor teaching at Al-Falah University.
The find was reported on November 12 in Dhauj village and Fatehpur Taga, leaving many stunned that someone trusted in the community could be involved.
Investigation is on to find out where it came from
One property near the university had about 358kg stored, but most—over 2,600kg—was found at a site owned by a local mosque cleric.
Locals had no idea these materials were there. Police are now digging into where all this came from and why it was stashed, with security agencies also checking if there are any links to terror groups or plans for misuse.
The investigation is still ongoing.
