    Most-educated politicians who will be part of 17th Lok Sabha

    The newly elected 17th Lok Sabha is different in many ways; it will not only be a younger and more gender-balanced House, but also a more educated one. This time, notably, 394 of the 542 winning MP candidates at least have graduate-level education. Here are five of the most educated politicians who are going to be a part of the 17th Lok Sabha.

    Shashi Tharoor, one of the most educated politicians in India

    Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, who registered hattrick victory from Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram this year, is one of the most educated politicians. He pursued BA in History from St. Stephen's College (Delhi University). He later completed postgraduation studies at Tufts University's The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. He obtained MA in Law and Diplomacy and also completed PhD in International Relations and Affairs at 22.

    BJP leader Jayant Sinha graduated from IIT Delhi

    BJP leader Jayant Sinha retained his Hazaribagh seat (Jharkhand) and will be a part of the 17th Lok Sabha. The son of veteran politician Yashwant Sinha is also among the most-educated politicians. He graduated from IIT-Delhi in 1985 and completed MS in Energy Management & Policy at the University of Pennsylvania in 1986. He obtained MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School in 1992.

    General VK Singh of BJP is also among most-educated politicians

    Former Army chief and BJP leader, General VK Singh (retd.), also retained his Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh) seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He graduated from the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA) and also pursued MSc in Defence Studies from the Madras University. Later, he pursued Masters in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College and did PhD from Bhopal's Barkatullah University.

    BJP leader Dr. Harsh Vardhan is also a well-educated politician

    BJP leader Dr. Harsh Vardhan is also one of the most educated politicians. He won from Delhi's Chandni Chowk, retaining his seat in the recent elections and is also going to be a part of the 17th Lok Sabha. He did his MBBS and later obtained his Master of Surgery degree in Otorhinolaryngology from Kanpur's Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial Medical College.

    #5: BJP MP Dr. Subhash Ramrao Bhamre

    BJP leader Dr. Subhash Ramrao Bhamre won from Maharashtra's Dhule Lok Sabha constituency, retaining his seat in the 2019 polls. He is an oncologist by profession and is one of the most-educated politicians. He had completed his MBBS from Mumbai's Grant Medical College.
