Flood risk increases with heavy monsoon forecast

Get ready for a wetter July—IMD says monsoon rains will be above normal, with 106% of the usual rainfall expected.
After June already saw heavy showers, central and northern India—including the Godavari, Krishna, and Mahanadi river basins—are set for more downpours.
States like Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Telangana, and Haryana are also on alert.

TL;DR

More rain is good for farmers, but...

While the extra rain is good news for farmers, it also means a higher risk of floods and landslides—especially in hilly or low-lying areas.
Authorities are keeping an eye on reservoirs and urging people in flood-prone zones to stay alert.
July is peak monsoon season, so IMD will keep sharing updates to help everyone stay prepared.
