Foggy mornings and cold snaps sweep across India

India

If you're waking up to misty windows and chilly air, you're not alone—dense fog and a cold wave are sticking around in many parts of India this week.
The IMD says states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal will see thick fog until at least December 24.
Even places like Haryana, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh aren't spared.
With the sun barely peeking through, cities such as Delhi and Patna are in for colder-than-usual days.

Delhi on yellow alert; travel takes a hit

Delhi NCR is under a yellow alert for heavy fog, with air quality remaining very poor and airport operations disrupted.
Northern Maharashtra (think Dhule and Nashik) is also feeling the chill with nighttime temperatures dipping into single digits.
In Odisha, highway authorities are warning drivers to be extra careful due to low visibility.
Even Central India is staying dry and cool, while some South Indian cities are waking up to cold mornings with light mist or haze.
