Four MBBS interns die in car-truck collision on Delhi-Lucknow highway

India

Four young medical interns lost their lives late Wednesday night when their car slammed into a parked truck on the Delhi-Lucknow highway near Amroha, UP.
They were returning to campus after a party about 7km from Shri Venkateshwara University when the crash happened, leaving their car crushed under the truck.

What happened at the scene?

Locals heard a loud crash and rushed over to find the wrecked car, airbags out and blood inside. The truck driver had already fled.
Emergency teams had to use tractors and cutters to get the victims out.
Police stated that an FIR will be registered as part of the ongoing investigation.

Who were they?

The victims—Dr. Arnab Chakraborty (25), Dr. Ayush Sharma (23), Dr. Shrestha Pancholi (24), and Dr. Saptarishi Das (24)—were all only sons in their families and part of Shri Venkateshwara University's 2020 MBBS batch.
Their families arrived at the scene as authorities prepared for post-mortems, making an already tough situation even harder for those left behind.
