Fresh rains cool down heatwave in Uttar Pradesh

After weeks of scorching heat, Uttar Pradesh is getting a much-needed break with pre-monsoon rains and thunderstorms.
IMD reports show light to moderate showers across the state, with Bareilly seeing the most rain at 149.4mm, followed by Nakur (120mm) and Bijnor (86mm).

Rains likely to benefit crops

The cooler weather is a huge relief for everyone, as it implies less risk of heat-related health issues.
It's also likely good news for farmers, as the rains may help crops recover from the heat.
With the monsoon expected to hit eastern UP soon, more rain and lower temperatures are on the way.
