Government says no major challenge to Kharif fertilizer supplies
India
Good news for farmers: the government says there is no major challenge to fertilizer availability this Kharif season.
Right now, supplies are at 51% of the seasonal need, much better than last year's 33% at this point, so things are looking steady for crop sowing.
Government says fertilizer subsidy budget adequate
The government says it has adequate budgetary support in place for timely payment of fertilizer subsidies.
On the energy side, LPG supply has improved (average wait is down to 3.3 days), but fuel prices are still tough, with losses of ₹700 per LPG cylinder and ₹27 per liter on diesel.
Meanwhile, talks about stabilizing aviation fuel prices are almost done: guidelines from Civil Aviation are just around the corner.
