A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped and brutally assaulted in Rajkot district, Gujarat. The accused, Ramsingh (35), a father of three from Alirajpur in Madhya Pradesh, is said to have kidnapped the girl while her parents were working on their farm.

Victim's condition stable after brutal assault
After the incident, the girl was found bleeding by her parents and rushed to a nearby hospital. She was later referred to Rajkot's government children's hospital for treatment. According to reports, her condition is now stable. The police have registered a case under BNS section 65 (2) and POCSO Act sections 5 (I), 5 (M), and 6 (1) based on a complaint from the victim's father.

Police investigation leads to suspect's confession
The police launched an extensive investigation, forming 10 teams to probe the case. They collected and analyzed CCTV footage from nearby villages and checked telecom data for active mobile phones in the area. A list of 140 suspects was prepared and narrowed down to 10 individuals. The victim identified Ramsingh as her attacker during a photo lineup assisted by child counselors and female police officers.

Accused confesses to crime during police questioning
The report quoted Vijaysinh Gurjar, Superintendent of Police (SP), Rajkot Rural, as saying that during police questioning, the accused confessed to the crime. Gurjar added that Ramsingh admitted trying to sexually assault the girl near a water tank in the field on December 4, around 11:00am. When he failed, he was enraged and violently assaulted her with an iron rod.
