Gujarat: Bride-to-be murdered by fiance just before wedding

Just an hour before her wedding, 23-year-old Soni Himmat Rathod was killed by her fiance, Sajan Khagna Baraiya, in Bhavnagar, Gujarat.
The two got into a heated argument over a saree and money near Tekri Chowk, which ended with Baraiya attacking Soni with an iron pipe and killing her on the spot.

What happened next

Soni and Sajan had been living together for over a year despite their families' disapproval, and most wedding rituals were already done.
After the murder, Baraiya vandalized their home and ran away.
Police quickly arrived, sent Soni's body for post-mortem, and registered a murder case.
Investigators are gathering evidence while searching for Baraiya.
A neighbor had also filed a complaint against him earlier that day after another argument.
