Heavy rains and heatwaves expected across India
Heads up! The India Meteorological Department (IMD) is predicting a mix of heavy rain and heatwaves across India starting June 13. Southern states like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Central Maharashtra could see thunderstorms and gusty winds, while parts of Himachal Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh are in for serious heat. Delhi? Expect it to stay hot and sticky with temps between 31°C and 42°C.
South, north-eastern states to see steady rain this week
South India will get steady rain all week, with really heavy showers expected in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka from June 13-17. Marathawada and Goa might catch some isolated downpours until June 16. North-eastern states will see rainfall pick up from June 14-18. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand could get heavy rain too, but folks in Rajasthan should watch out for dust storms—and both Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan have heatwave alerts. IMD recommends everyone take care as the weather flips around!
