Himachal Pradesh under yellow alert amid 64 dead, ₹797cr losses

Himachal Pradesh is facing a tough monsoon season: Since late June, 64 people have lost their lives and damage has hit ₹797 crore.
With 14 landslides and a flash flood shaking the region, the state is still on yellow alert for heavy rain in isolated places in the state until August 12.
Monsoon shuts roads, Hindustan-Tibet Road reopens
The nonstop rain has left its mark: 120 roads are shut and 60 water supply schemes aren't working right now.
The Hindustan-Tibet Road in Kinnaur, blocked by a landslide earlier, has just reopened.
Meanwhile, more heavy showers are expected in the coming days.
