    What's the story

After the September 26 Supreme Court judgement on Aadhaar authentication, entities like banks, telecom operators, and e-wallet services providers can no longer ask you to provide your Aadhaar information.

Additionally, there has been a considerable rise in cases of Aadhaar-related scams recently.

This is prompting people to de-link their Aadhaar.

Here's your step-by-step guide to de-link the Aadhaar from mobile number and e-wallets.

    E-wallets

Follow these steps to delink Aadhaar from your e-wallets

First off, call the customer care number of the concerned e-wallet service provider (ie. Paytm, PhonePe etc.) and inform the executive that you wish to delink your Aadhaar.

Subsequently, they'll send you an e-mail to proceed with the process.

Fill up the form, attached to the e-mail, to delink your Aadhaar.

Your Aadhaar will be delinked from your digital wallet account within 72 hours.

    Information

You can also delink Aadhaar from your mobile service provider

To delink Aadhaar from your mobile number, you can either get in touch with the customer care facility of your service provider or visit the nearest branch of the telecom company to request the delinking. Your Aadhaar will be delinked within 48 hours of request.
