  • Although according to the Supreme Court, it is no longer mandatory to link your Aadhaar with bank account, it could still prove to be beneficial.

    The State Bank of India (SBI), the largest lender in the country, offers various ways to link Aadhaar with bank account.

    Here are five ways in which you can link Aadhaar with your SBI account.

  • If you wish to link your Aadhaar with bank account offline, simply head to your nearest SBI branch.

    Fill in a Letter of Request, and submit along with a copy of your Aadhaar card.

    After necessary verification, your Aadhaar will be linked by your bank branch.

    You will also receive an SMS on your registered mobile number regarding the status of linking.

    How to link Aadhaar using SBI Internet Banking portal

  • In order to link your Aadhaar number with SBI account online, log into the SBI portal.

    Next, click on 'Link your Aadhaar number' under 'My Accounts'.

    Then, enter your Aadhaar number and click on Submit.

    The last 2 digits of your registered mobile number (non-editable) will be displayed to you.

    Status of linking will be informed to you via your registered mobile number.

  • You can also link your Aadhaar using the SBI corporate website. Click on 'Link your Aadhaar Number with your bank account'. Navigate the screens to get your Aadhaar number linked. Status of linking will be intimated on your registered mobile number.

    How to link Aadhaar using the SBI Anywhere App

  • To link your Aadhaar using the SBI Anywhere App, log into your account.

    Click on 'Requests' and go to 'Aadhaar' option.

    Then, click on 'Aadhaar linking' and select your CIF from the drop down list.

    Enter your Aadhaar number and Submit.

    After necessary verification, your Aadhaar will be linked. Finally, status of linking will be notified on your registered mobile number.

  • Last but not the least, you can also link Aadhaar with your SBI account, by visiting your nearest SBI ATM booth.

    Start by swiping your card and entering your PIN.

    Select the menu 'Service - Registrations'.

    Then, select Aadhaar registration. Select your account type and enter your Aadhaar number.

    An SMS regarding status of the linking will be sent on your registered mobile number.
