IAF officer's wife alleges rape, blackmail, forced conversion; 2 arrested

A 24-year-old woman, the wife of an Indian Air Force officer, has accused her former classmate of drugging and raping her. The accused, Ayyaz Taj Madare (26), allegedly lured the woman to a hotel on Wardha Road under the pretext of a property deal in February 2025, India Today reported.

Woman was pressured to convert to Islam
He is said to have spiked her drink with an intoxicant before sexually assaulting her. The woman also alleges she was pressured to convert to Islam under the pretense of religious rituals. Madare also allegedly filmed the assault and used the footage to blackmail the woman. She claims she was repeatedly sexually exploited and extorted of ₹3.09 lakh.

Evidence in the case
A video has surfaced as evidence in the case, showing Madare holding the woman's hands while chanting religious verses and repeatedly blowing over her as she struggles to break free. In the video, the woman is heard pleading, "Chhodo mujhe (let me go)." The woman claims she was almost raped again after being declared converted. Although the incident is reportedly a year old, the woman informed her husband about these incidents three days ago when he returned from duty.

Two arrests have been made so far
Ameen Sheikh (30) was also involved in the alleged crime. He and Madare have been arrested by the police. Hazrat Maulana, a resident of Tamia in Madhya Pradesh, is still on the run. The case has been registered under several charges, including rape, extortion, and attempted religious conversion under Maharashtra law against inhuman practices.
