IMD issues heavy rainfall alert for Pune

Heads up, Pune! The IMD has extended an orange alert for the city and its ghat areas until June 17, with very heavy rain on the way thanks to an active monsoon.
Raigad is even under a red alert.
Moist winds from the Arabian Sea are behind these intense showers across western Maharashtra.

Expect gusty winds (40-50km/h), slippery roads, and a higher risk of landslides in hilly spots.
Flooding and waterlogging have already caused traffic jams—Shivajinagar got 55mm rain just on June 13.
The downpour should ease after June 17, but scattered heavy showers could stick around in Pune, Mumbai, Nashik, and Nagpur.
If you're out and about, it's smart to avoid flooded areas and stay safe during the heaviest spells.
