IMD warns of heavy rain and cold wave across India
Heads up—IMD says heavy rain is on the way for Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala starting Tuesday, December 2, thanks to a deep depression brewing in the Bay of Bengal.
North coastal Tamil Nadu, Yanam, and Rayalaseema are among the areas expected to receive heavy rainfall, with thunderstorms and lightning expected through December 4.
What else to know
Kerala and Mahe are set for a rainy Wednesday, with wet weather likely sticking around through Thursday in several states.
Meanwhile, northern areas including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi (where it dipped to a chilly 5.7°C), Madhya Maharashtra, and Rajasthan are facing cold wave alerts.
Dense fog is also expected in parts of Manipur, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, and Odisha—so bundle up if you're heading out!
