IMD warns of heavy rain and cold wave across India
India
Heads up: The IMD says winter is advancing early this year.
Heavy rain and strong winds are on the way for Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands from November 22-25, thanks to a weather system brewing over the South Andaman Sea.
Up north, folks in Rajasthan, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh can expect colder nights with temperatures dropping by 2-3°C.
Other details
A low-pressure area near the Malacca Strait is moving toward the Bay of Bengal and will likely bring even more rain to Tamil Nadu and the islands.
The IMD has also told farmers in western districts to protect their crops from cold waves.
Meanwhile, Delhi-NCR's air quality remains "extremely poor" (AQI: 396), with minimum temperatures expected to fall below 10°C.
