IMD warns of heavy rain in Andaman-Nicobar Islands
India
Heads up if you're in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands—IMD says some rough weather is on the way.
A low-pressure system over the south Andaman Sea is expected to turn into a depression by November 22, and may develop into a cyclone around November 26.
So, it's looking like next week might be pretty wet and windy.
What to expect (and watch out for)
Nicobar Islands are set for heavy to very heavy rain between November 24-25, with rainfall possibly hitting up to 204mm in just one day.
Winds are also picking up speed, potentially reaching 65km/h.
Because of all this, fishermen have been told to stay off the water until at least November 25—and avoid parts of the Bay of Bengal until November 28—for everyone's safety.
