Incessant rains cause flooding in Pune's low-lying areas

Pune's been drenched since Wednesday night, leading to water entering several localities and housing societies in low-lying areas along the Mutha river.
With the nonstop rain, the Khadakwasla dam—Pune's main water source—has ramped up its discharge to 4,300 cusecs to manage rising levels.

Pune on red alert for more rain

Flooding has hit areas like Bhide Bridge (now underwater) and parts of Hingane, where some homes in Sainagar got flooded after a wall gave way.
The weather department has put Pune on red alert with more heavy rain likely in the next 24 hours, so local authorities are staying extra cautious.
