India is making it easier for its people to leave Iran after concerns about their safety.
Around 9,000 Indian nationals, including students, seafarers, business people, professionals, and pilgrims, can now travel overland to Azerbaijan or Armenia and then catch flights home.
The government is also helping with visas and making sure border crossings go smoothly.
MEA has already helped some Indians return safely
The Ministry of External Affairs has already helped some Indians get back safely using neighboring countries.
To keep everyone safe, a few groups were moved from Tehran to other cities.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal encouraged anyone wanting to leave to follow the Indian embassy's instructions closely.
