India leads global GenAI learning with 3.6 million enrollments in 2025
India is now the world's top spot for Generative AI learning, with 3.6 million people signing up for AI courses on Coursera in 2025—outpacing every other country.
Enrollments jumped from one per minute last year to three per minute this year, showing just how quickly interest is growing.
Courses fueling careers and confidence
Courses from big names like Google Cloud, IBM, and AWS drew learners at all skill levels, covering everything from Large Language Models to automation.
Python is a key skill area and popular course topic, though not all GenAI courses from these providers specifically cover it.
The payoff? About 95% of Indian learners landed new jobs or promotions, over half saw salary bumps, and nearly everyone felt more confident in their skills.
What's next for jobs?
GenAI could shake up 38 million jobs and add $1.5 trillion to India's economy by 2030—but right now, only about 3% of organizations feel ready for this massive shift.
