India marks 1 year of Operation Sindoor, reaffirms self-defense
India just marked one year since Operation Sindoor, which was launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.
The government restated its commitment to fighting cross-border terrorism from Pakistan and emphasized its right to defend itself.
As spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal put it, "We gave a befitting reply to Pakistan for its sponsorship of cross-border terrorism."
Indian airstrikes in Pakistan and PoK
Indian forces carried out airstrikes on nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, reportedly killing around 100 terrorists.
The strikes led to a spike in tensions, with some retaliatory attacks from Pakistan, most of which were intercepted by India's defense systems.
Things finally cooled off after both countries' armies communicated directly through hotlines by May 10 last year.
