India reaffirms Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh are integral parts
India isn't backing down after Pakistan objected to US envoy Sergio Gor calling Jammu and Kashmir (J and K) an "important part of India."
On Friday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) made it clear that Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh are "integral and indivisible parts of India," saying their status isn't up for debate.
This all happened after Pakistan summoned the US charge d'affaires to complain about Gor's comments.
Sergio Gor visits Jammu and Kashmir
Gor recently became the first US envoy since 2019 to visit J and K on his own.
He met with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, praised local security efforts, and called J and K a beautiful place with big tourism potential.
Pakistan called his Kashmir-status remark "factually incorrect," and India quickly brushed off those claims, sticking firmly to its position.
