Indian Army attacks terror launch pads in PoK: Reports

What's the story

On Sunday, the Indian Army attacked at least four terror launch pads situated in Pakistan occupied Kashmir, killing 4-5 Pakistani soldiers and injuring several others, reports said. The exercise was carried out in response to ceasefire violations from the Pakistani side which happened hours ago. In the heavy exchange of fire, two Indian soldiers were martyred and one civilian died. Five others were injured.

Pakistan wanted to destabilize the situation in Valley

According to NDTV, the terror pads were situated in Neelam Valley, opposite the Tangdhar sector of Kupwara. They were completely destroyed in artillery strikes, the report added. Apparently, Pakistan was using these pads to send terrorists to India and destabilize the situation in the Valley. Pakistan has been fuming (?) since Centre rescinded Article 370 in August and split the state into two UTs.

Damage

After heavy damage on Indian side, army retaliated strongly

The ceasefire violation from Pakistan adversely affected locals in the area. India Today said a house, a rice godown, and two cars were completely damaged. Two shelters housing 19 cattle and sheep were also destroyed. Chitrakoot village suffered the maximum damage as six houses were ruined. Speaking on the operation, the Indian Army said, "Indian forces cause heavy damages and casualty to Pakistan."

On Tuesday, a woman died after Pakistan violated ceasefire

Earlier this week, unprovoked violations from the Pakistani side killed a 27-year-old woman in Poonch district. She was cooking in her kitchen when a Pakistani shell landed nearby, killing her instantly. Her minor son, however, escaped unhurt. Till September alone, Pakistan indulged in as many as 2,050 unprovoked ceasefire violations despite India repeatedly asking it to adhere to the 2003 agreement.
