IndiGo flight chaos: Delays, cancelations hit travelers nationwide

India

IndiGo, India's biggest airline, has had a rough couple of days—hundreds of flights were delayed or canceled all over the country.
The airline says it's down to technical problems, bad weather, crowded airports, winter schedule changes, and some new crew scheduling rules.
To make things easier for passengers stuck in the mess, IndiGo is updating its schedules for the next two days and offering refunds or alternate flights.

What's behind the disruptions?

India's aviation regulator (DGCA) wants answers from IndiGo after 1,200+ flights were canceled last month alone—a majority linked to those new crew work-hour rules.
Pilots' groups are calling out poor planning by management and say changing regulations have made things worse.
IndiGo promises it's working hard to get back on track and told passengers: "We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused."
