'Human bomb' threat to IndiGo flight; diverted to Mumbai

An IndiGo flight from Jeddah to Hyderabad was diverted to Mumbai after receiving a "human bomb" threat. The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad received a threatening email at 5:30am on Saturday. The email warned airport authorities to prevent the flight's landing in Hyderabad and mentioned a planned blast by "onboard LTTE-ISI operatives."

Following the threat, airport authorities alerted all stakeholders, and the flight was diverted to Mumbai. "The aircraft landed safely and underwent thorough security check,s which found no issues," police authorities were quoted as saying by PTI. Based on the complaint from RGIA, a case has been registered by the police for further investigation into this matter.

An IndiGo spokesperson confirmed the incident and said they diverted flight 6E 68 from Jeddah to Hyderabad on November 1. The airline immediately informed relevant authorities and cooperated with security checks before clearing the aircraft for further operations. They also made efforts to minimize passenger inconvenience by offering refreshments and sharing regular updates during this period.
