IndiGo's Boeing 787 continues normal operations
Even after last week's Air India 787 crash raised safety questions, IndiGo's leased Boeing 787-9 is still flying between Delhi and Bangkok without any extra inspections.
IndiGo plans to bring in five more of these planes by early 2026 for longer routes.
TL;DR
How the crashed Air India and Norse's 787s differ
IndiGo's 787-9 comes from Norse Atlantic on a wet lease—so Norse handles the plane, cockpit crew, and maintenance, while IndiGo provides the cabin crew.
Unlike the crashed Air India jet (which had GE engines), this one runs on Rolls-Royce engines.
So far, Indian and Norwegian aviation authorities haven't ordered extra checks; only Japan has called for inspections on similar jets worldwide.
