The Internet in Jammu and Kashmir has been left buzzing with tales of honesty of J&K policemen after a special police officer and a constable returned two bags lost in separate incidents with huge cash to their rightful owners. Special Police Officer Umar Mushtaq, who works for a meager salary of Rs. 6,000/month, returned a bag containing Rs. 90,000 to its rightful owner yesterday.

Malla had his retirement savings in the lost bag

Malla, who had recently retired from Srinagar Municipal Corporation, had lost the bag containing his retirement savings and had lodged a report in the concerned police station. SPO Mushtaq found the bag and informed his superior officer who ensured that it's returned to its owner. The police posted about another incident in which a constable returned a bag containing Rs. 21,000 to Amarnath pilgrims.
