Jaunpur man arrested for killing parents over property dispute

In Jaunpur, 37-year-old Ambesh Kumar has been arrested after allegedly killing his parents during a fight about family property.
Police say he used a grinding stone in the attack on December 8, then tried to cover it up by dumping their bodies in the Gomti River.
The case only came to light when his sister, Vandana Devi, filed a missing persons report days later.

What's happening now

Police say Kumar confessed during questioning. Teams are currently searching the river to recover the bodies.
The case is being investigated under new criminal law sections as authorities work to piece together what happened.
