Jharkhand students form 11-member team over recruitment exam irregularities
A group of students and job aspirants in Jharkhand has put together an 11-member team to talk with the state government about alleged irregularities in recent recruitment exams.
This move comes after 12 days of protests, some of the biggest student-led demonstrations the state has seen at Ranchi's Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium, and Chief Minister Hemant Soren saying he's open to hearing them out.
Protesters want 14th JPSC canceled
The main demand is to cancel the 14th JPSC Civil Services Exam, which protesters say was unfair.
They also want an independent investigation into the matter, either by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or by a panel of retired high court judges from outside Jharkhand.
The delegation includes eight students, plus two journalists and an advocate who will act as advisers.
The role of journalists and the advocate will be limited to providing guidance as they want peaceful talks and resolve the issue.
