Karnataka Governor's grandson faces serious dowry and assault allegations
Divya Gehlot has filed a police complaint against her husband, Devendra Gehlot—the grandson of Karnataka Governor Thawarchand Gehlot—accusing him and his family of demanding ₹50 lakh in dowry, physical assault, and even attempted murder.
Divya says Devendra pushed her off a roof while drunk in January 2025, causing major injuries.
She also claims she was denied immediate medical help and only got treatment the next day.
Ongoing investigation and family's response
Divya alleges her in-laws are keeping her four-year-old daughter from her until the dowry is paid, adding that she's faced years of abuse, especially during pregnancy.
She also revealed that Devendra's substance abuse was hidden before their 2018 marriage under a government scheme.
The police are still investigating; meanwhile, Jitendra Gehlot (Devendra's father) has denied all accusations and says he'll share their side soon.
